This little café is hardly a secret, and I have stopped many times at its historic horseshoe-shaped zinc bar for a quick coffee. But a friend of mine kept singing the praises of its filet mignon de veau. So of course I had to try it. There are actually a few tables in the back, but it’s more fun to squash into the front on the tiny tables to people-watch. And the veal was indeed perfect (cooked à point), the green beans probably the best I’ve had in a restaurant (I want to know what’s in that sauce). Count on about €25-30/person here. Service noon until 1am. And yes, you should visit their toilets (they're very proud of them).
Note: The website groups all of its properties -- they seem to own every café and restaurant on this stretch of the Marais -- so click on the little upside down horseshoe icon to see the menu and list of Plats du jour.
