This restaurant describes its cuisine as « bourgeoise de tradition française, spécialisé en gibiers ». So, old-fashioned and semi-formal French cooking, specializing in game. What caught my eye was he three-course menu for dinner at €35 (€26 for lunch), a real deal considering how every dish was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
The wine list is large (and this is where your bill will climb if you’re not careful), just don't ask for a rosé, non non non. The décor is early 1900s Belle Epoch, very typically Parisian with red velour banquettes and painted murals on the walls. The service was efficient and friendly (even though they were playing 70s disco music in the dining room when the boss was away this August).
The “Comptoir Marguery” next door is their less formal wine bar, recommended if the restaurant is full.
