Discount Hotel Booking & Review Sites
There are thousands of hotels in Paris, so I can't possibly review them all! Here are a few noteworthy websites with Paris hotel reviews and discount booking:
Easy to Book includes Paris hotels amongst other European cities. You can see their selection of hotels of the month, read about the nearby sites, or even search through the map for location-specific hotels. They have online booking and toll-free calling to book direct in the US, UK and France. No booking fees, and great discount rates in all of the major hotels (many reviewed on this site as well).
Paris Hotels has over 180 “charming hotels” in Paris, with an easy search engine by price, location, or star-rating. They guarantee the lowest prices, charge no agency fees, and allow you to book immediately using their real-time online reservation system.
Paris By has a good database of Paris hotels with plenty of photos and detailed room information, organized by location or star-rating. Rooms can be booked directly online.
Expedia lists major Paris hotels with full descriptions and competitive rates, searchable by neighborhood or star-rating. Rooms can be booked directly through the Expedia website (hotel addresses are listed, but not telephone numbers or websites).
EuroCheapo is an independent budget hotel reviewer that gives the lowdown on Paris’ least expensive rooms and hostels, with a focus on popular tourist neighborhoods such as the Marais and the Latin Quarter. Some hotels can be booked directly through their website, but for most you’ll have to contact the hotel yourself.
Rates to Go offers discounts up to 60% off hotel rooms for last-minute bookings (up to 20 days in advance). Hotels are fully described with photos, address, and amenities, and include consumer reviews. Always check here before booking your room directly with the hotel, if possible. Reservations can be made immediately online with a credit card (15% deposit taken). There is a small booking fee of €4.
Trip Advisor lists and rates Paris hotels along with client reviews, links to articles and guidebook listings, and a handy search function. There are very few Paris hotels that aren't listed here.
IgoUgo is another site that focuses on "honest advice" by fellow travelers, particularly hotel reviews.
Fodor's website has all of the hotels listed in the print guide to Paris (updated in 2006 by yours truly), as well as ratings by other travelers and an active forum where you can get hotel advice.
Hostel Club Need a room in Paris for less than €50? Less than €30? Less than €20? If you think that’s impossible then check out the Hostel Club website. Just don’t bother looking for the hairdryer or minibar…
